So here’s a tool you can use to stay focused, it doesn’t make you do the things you want to, but it helps you remember where to put your attention on; to not get out of the way.

Obviously as I’ve said before, that’s not magic; commitment and perseverance are needed.

Moodboards can have the duration you want them to, because you are able to desire different things in different moments. It works in this moment , but your goals could change over time.
When it comes to me, I create monthly moodboards, but just in this case and because I want to do big things I've created one for two months (feb - mar). In April I'll create a new one with my new goals.

Having said that, let’s get into business and let’s do a moodboard:

Write down EVERYTHING you want to do in detail; Hobbies, works, self growth...

Give them a grade of priority in your life. For example from levels 1 to 3; less options, easier to choose one. Don't make a list of ten levels.
Do this before the next step. It makes you think about what is really important to you. How much do I really want it?
There could also be “non productive” things that you really want to do for your entertainment, you can add them too.

Only keep the things with a number of priority smaller than '2' (1 or 2). Create a new list with what you have left. If you have more than eight activities, prioritize and remove them until you get less than 8.

Now think to yourself 'what can I do in the next (your deadline)?' f.e.: for me 'what can I do in the next month?'. Another question is ‘can it wait?'.
It doesn't matter if your goal is due within one year, the key is knowing what to do in the time you have chosen to complete the task. I mean, what can I do now to achieve that thing in the future?
For example if you want to create a scent, but now it is not that important to you, it can wait.

Delete those things that can wait. Now you will have 5 or 6 things to do. That makes you able to have time for all of them.

Choose the things that you want to do that are easier or require minor effort. Set them a start for example.

Choose those things that will take a long time. Don't be afraid, step by step. But this helps you to know how much effort you will need in the future.

Now the most enjoyable part, it's time to draw. Take a piece of paper, this is your canvas.
Grid 5 cols in it and 7 rows.
Depending on how important the task is, make bigger or smaller cells. Some sizes could be 3x3, 2x1, 1x1... And organise it as you wish.

You can write the activity or search for drawings to represent it.

(Optional) Now you can draw your moodboard digitally.

Here’s mine for february - march:

If you are not a creative person or you find it difficult to come up with ideas you can always get some inspo from apps such as tumblr or pinterest!

If you create a moodboard don’t hesitate to send it to me :D

Fact: I’m not actually a web developer yet. I’m still studying my IT degree.

Here is a list of all the tools I’ve used in my projects until now:

VS code: It is known how this code editor works. In the last few years it has won a lot of popularity. It’s light and powerful, and has a lot of extensions that make your development faster and easier.

Chrome Canary and Firefox Nightly: those are development browsers. They implement all of the updates just as they are released and whenever you access, it’s being brought up to date!

Of course browser’s web developer tools that awesome F12 key. Web inspector, console...

Lapa.ninja: This one is a web for landing page design inspiration. I always use it when I’m working on a new project.
You should visit it!

CSS tricks: This one is quite tricky, because the first time you use it it looks like it will only have design tips and similar. But this web is so huge. It’s a great resource for tips and tutorials.
My most precious resource: %[https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/a-guide-to-flexbox/]

This is the video if you want to watch it btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2N5a7XZWg8

Last summer I started a course about it too, here it is: coursera.org/learn/learning-how-to-learn Hint: I haven’t finished it yet.

But in both cases, I realised something interesting. You need to keep three things in mind to learn efficiently. There are more of them, of course, but for me these are my musts:

Taking action

Sleep

Repetition

Taking action

For me, this is the most important task and also, the thing I care less about when it comes to myself.

Taking action doesn’t imply reading a book and all is done. It means you should take notes, make diagrams, ask questions to yourself...

For example, I’ve always wanted to learn English, but I’ve never done anything giving my 100%. I saw tv series and movies in English (that’s really nice, for sure) but when I didn’t know a word, I never wrote it down. That means I will not remember it. Taking action means having a pencil and a paper nearby and taking notes. You can apply that to everything.

Repetition

It doesn’t matter if you take a lot of notes about everything if you end up not reading them again. The key to success is doing one thing over and over again. If one method doesn’t work, just change it up and try again. Usually you need more than one attempt to get things done successfully. With the previous example, if you don’t read your word list again, why have you done that? Spend time repeating things to know all about them and never forget them.

Sleep

This is really important and something people sometimes take for granted, because when we sleep, we create new synapses (neuron connections) and the toxins in our brain are cleaned. So do that more frequently.

Bonus: Don’t be rushed, big things take time.
As someone really wise once said: la paciencia es la madre de la ciencia.
